Daiwa 21 Steez A TW HLC Baitcast Reel

Possibly one of the most well-known Daiwa bait cast reels over the past decade, the Steez A gets the Hyper Long Cast (HLC) treatment in 2021. Daiwa’s history of HLC reels have been well received in Australia, where long casts to spooky fish can often mean the difference between getting a bite and not.

For 2021, the Steez A HLC is now equipped with a 36mm diameter HLC Spool, with a slightly increased line capacity from the original. This additional line capacity will be a welcome addition for the Australian angler.

The HLC spool is tuned for long-casting with new Magforce Z BOOST braking system specifically designed to give midweight lures from 10-30gm additional cast distance.

Also featuring HYPERDRIVE Design, Steez A HLC is a welcome upgrade to an already fantastic reel.

• 90mm BC Handle: The all-rounder of handle lengths is suited to a variety of applications from finesse to mid to heavy-duty angling.
• Aluminium Body: Lightweight and incredibly strong, aluminium allows strength and weightlessness to be achieved without the cost and corrosion issues of other metals.
• ATD-Drag: Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up.
• CRBB: Lasting 12 times longer than standard stainless steel bearings Daiwa’s CRBBs feature specially treated stainless steel, and a protective shield on the bearing race that seals out sand, fine grit, salt crystals and other abrasives. The result is a longer lasting bearing that’s protected from the corrosive elements that destroy traditional bearings.
• HLC Spool: Daiwa’s Hyper Long Cast super-tuned cast control system has been designed for optimum casting performance with the spool rotor modified to minimise rotor braking to maximise spool rotation and casting distance of heavier lures and baits.
• Hyper-Digigear: Featuring, Daiwa’s famous machine cut gear system, Hyper Digigear, results in silky smooth precision meshing between the main and pinion gear. Ultra tough, surface treated, high tensile alloy drive gear and marine bronze pinion gear allow for increased gear teeth accuracy and improved gear meshing, smoothness, and strength.
