Starting with a selection of custom-built mandrels, the Blackout features Shimano’s innovative T45 construction. The blank is built by rolling graphite tape at a linear 45-degree angle and reinforcing it with two sheets of graphite rolled at opposing angles. This creates a lightweight blank with outstanding recovery and sensitivity. Fuji Alconite guides have been used throughout the build, ensuring the Blackout offers the trouble-free performance expected by experienced lure fisherman. While a Fuji soft-touch reel seat combines with exceptionally comfortable Winn grips to provide the Blackout with a unique feel previously only found in custom built rods.
