The pinnacle of Daiwa Australia rod design, 22 TD BATTLER AGS was a ground-up redevelopment with brand-new technology combining with decades of local knowledge and design experience from Daiwa’s product development team in Australia.
It all starts with the blank, and TD BATTLER AGS is using SVF Compile-X Nanoplus graphite. This is an incredibly high-modulus carbon sheet with nano-technology resin which offers unmatched sensitivity and power-to-weight ratio. Allowing for blanks which are both incredibly lightweight, and ultra-crisp and responsive.
Daiwa’s newest generation Air Guide System (AGS) carbon fibre guides have been equipped on TD BATTLER AGS. These feature improved frame design to minimise line tangles and slimmer ceramic inserts to further reduce weight and minimise friction for longer casts.
The blanks have been further improved using a clever combination of Daiwa’s 3DX and X45X Full Shield graphite technologies. Both work together to increase torsional stiffness to reduce blank twisting and eliminate power loss when loading. The result is an even crisper and more responsive blank which is the standard for the iconic TD BATTLER AGS series.
Fans of Daiwa rods from the past will instantly recognise the distinct clear finish to TD BATTLER AGS’s new AIRSENSOR hybrid reel seat. These new reel seats have been carefully designed to improve comfort with features like offset blanks in the baitcast rod to make your hand sit lower and make palming reels more comfortable.
A totally overhauled model line-up now includes more models to cater to any kind of fishing throughout Australia. From ultralight spin rods to baitcast swimbait rods capable of throwing the biggest glidebaits for murray cod and barramundi. TD BATTLER AGS has it all and is in a league of its own.
- AGS GUIDES - Weighing a mere fraction of the weight of traditional guides (40% lighter than an equivalent sized titanium guide) AGS guides feature a solid carbon fibre frame construction that minimizes weight, improves casting distance and performance, and delivers faster rod speed, reduced rod vibration and angler fatigue, and greater rod sensitivity.
- V JOINT ALPHA - Lighter and stronger than its predessor, V-Joint Alpha features Bias construction that allows the rod joint to flex with the rod to eliminate flat spots and weakness in the ferrule joint.
- 3DX - 3DX supports the lower power section of the rod by knitting densely packed carbon fibers in 3 directions to achieve a six wrap rectangular weave. Power through the blank under load is distributed evenly in all directions allowing it to maintain its profile and form. This process confines the rod’s power to the lower section of the rod, increases power, eliminates blank twist and collapse, all the while reducing angler fatigue.
